Park County Fair cuts Sunday from schedule

POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - The Park County Fair Board has decided to cut Sunday from this summer's fair schedule because of low attendance.

Fair Manager Steve Scott says the sparse Sunday crowds have made it a difficult day for concessionaires and the carnival.

Scott says the Fair Board has been discussing the idea of trimming the fair from six days to five days for some time. Under the change, the fair will end Saturday night.

Scott says he hopes local churches will continue to offer a Sunday morning church service at the fairgrounds, but that will be up to the churches.

This year's fair is scheduled for July 27-31.
