Re: swiss bobs or kurve  (United States)

Unfortunately I'm not travelled enough to know if there are any still operating or not.  Considering the size of the piece I don't see it being cost effective any more to move, not to mention the many things I've heard about the different systems they used to drive them -- Honestly it's one of the few rides I know very little about --

I have always wanted to build a model of this ride but I don't have the know how to make it roll on a track without falling off.

I think it would all depend on just how large of a model you planned on would tell us what options you had.  The smaller you go, we all know, makes it harder to adapt things like drivetrains and lights.  I will have to think on this one as there are endless possibilities here :)

My scale is 3":5'  its rather large....It would be around 3 ft diameter.  I thought about making it a static model like my Toboggan, but I really want it to turn.

On that size range I see no reason why it couldn't run -- the drivetrain might not be 'a match to the original design but I'm sure it can be made to turn -- Let me see if I can come up with any technical drawings or if anyone else has any --

Re: swiss bobs or kurve  (United States)
I found some technical drawings on a site called TPB3d.com.  They are trying to design a rct type game & have added me as a historian because of my ride knowledge.  You should check it out.  Its fun to discuss old rides with these people who think they know everything.  My Sky Wheel thread started because they insisted Chance Sky Wheels were 102' high.  Share some of your knowledge over there & they would welcome you in.

Sounds like I'll have to check it out.  I'm more of a Chance / Allen Herschell Rides buff I guess, but I can cover Wisdom pretty well via experience...  As for the others, there's tons of bits and pieces <lol> that I know so who knows where I'd fit in.  Needless to say I'm sure I'll have some more time on my hands now a days ;)

Went over there and found only a SourceForge page with very little content.  Is there another address?
