Sun Valley/Ketchum Celebrates The 4th of July With Free Music, Carnival
Sun Valley/Ketchum will celebrate the 4th of July with free music and a children's carnival held in downtown Ketchum on Saturday, July 4th.
The festivities kick off on July 3rd with a concert by Tony Furtado at the Clarion Inn on the Rustic Moose deck in Ketchum. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with The Kim Stocking Band opening at 6:30 p.m. Tony Furtado will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at Ketchum Dry Goods, located on Sun Valley Road in Ketchum, and are $10 per person.
Furtado is described as an 'extremely skilled musician with a riveting voice who blends rock music with Americana, folk, and pop'. According to his website, www.tonyfurtado.com, his musical reach is broad enough to resonate with fans of Ry Cooder, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, CCR, and Tom Petty. His latest album is Deep Water.
On the 4th of July, a children's carnival and live music will take place on the 4th Street Heritage Corridor and in the Ketchum Town Plaza. The carnival will run from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and will offer games, prizes, and a bouncy house. Live music will begin with local band the Damphools playing from 4:30-6:30 p.m., followed by Dallas Alice beginning at 7:00 p.m. Dallas Alice is an Americana alternative country, rock n roll band from Louisville, KY, known for getting the crowd on its feet. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event.
We are really excited to bring back this event for the 3rd year, and love the fact that we were able to extend it to Friday night and bring Tony Furtado back to the valley, commented Stefany Mahoney, Membership Services Director with the CVB.
Besides being really fun, this event is important in that it helps bring business to the community.
