After our initial 30 day run of the new webchat and messenger software, here's what we've determined about the software vs. our members needs:

• Need A/V chat features incorporated into chat
• Interface is fast, effecient and generally trouble free.
• Interface is compatible with most browser platforms.
• Interface supports our advertisers needs.
• Limitations exist in the moderation features of the chatroom.
• Integration with our DNN portal software was seamless!

The next step:

We've found another server application and client we are going to test.  Enhanced features we're looking at are the A/V chat and better moderator/administrator support.  This application will cost the same to implement, but has different limitations we will mention later.  Additional issues may be encountered with the A/V chat as we will be running the RTMP server on a lightweight server we have for backups during our testing process.  You might see some performance issues during heavy A/V chat sessions.

I should have the system implemented by the first of the week and we can start testing.  See the forums for updates and leave us notes there as you encounter them.
